From the Secretary's Quills-March 2009
From the Secretary’s Quills, “Spring is sprung, fall is fell, Wind is from the Nawth and blows like H_______!”There are certain needs that the Craft must make note of while conducting the daily business of the Lodge. Those needs are translated into the necessary documentation for both Sequin-Level and Grand Lodge information centers. There are a few items that we need to gather on your Masonic profile. They are enumerated here; We continue to receive address and e-mail changes on a daily basis and it is necessary that you contact the Secretary first with any changes you have regarding your status as a member. Even though reports are sent to Grand Lodge on a monthly basis I send supplemental reports during each month on an irregular basis so that our human resources information is up to date. Essential information that is needed includes phone numbers, cell numbers and e-mail addresses and are included on the master call list maintained locally. It has been increasingly difficult to keep the widow’s list current with the information we have at this time. Please advise the Secretary of your spouse’s first and middle names and month/day/year of birth. In this manner, after I am gone, Secretaries of the future will easily be able to track deaths of our Brothers and their widows. Another item came to mind in the past few months. Please make sure your family knows where your White Leather Apron is located and tell them now whether you want it to go with you in the box in the ground or for them to keep it. Deciding in advance will assure the family of your wishes. If you don’t know where it is now, how will they find it at the appropriate time? Now is the time to get this task done.
Lost: A brother named William J. Bradford born June 17, 1925. Last known address was Brookfield, CT. Wife’s name is Betty R. Bradford age-78. If anyone has even a tidbit of information on this brother, please call or e-mail the Secretary.
Name badges which have been standardized for Sequin-Level Lodge can be ordered through the Secretary and are $6.00 each. Those who have already spoken to me I have yours on the list to order. Also, Ritual books can be ordered by Master Masons only, are $10.00 each and are also ordered through the Secretary. Numbers to remember; your member number on your dues card. More to follow in the coming months. A, Scott Dean
