Interested in Becoming a Mason?

interestedman_copySo you’ve seen all the hype from Dan Brown’s latest book "The Lost Symbol, to documentaries on the Knights Templars on the History Channel. You’ve heard we have some secrets and you see some men walking around in funny hats and tuxes and now you want to know what all the hubbub is about?

Great! Freemasonry is the world’s oldest Fraternity and in the United States, Masonic principles were the cornerstone of the building of this great nation. Did you know that 14 Presidents of the United States were Freemasons? Did you also know that Freemasons in this country donate nearly 1 Billion dollars to charity each year?

Throughout the course of time many great men have become Masons;

George Washington
Benjamin Franklin (Statesmen and Inventor)
Winston Churchill
“Bud” Abbott (Abbott and Costello)
Count Bassie
Daniel Carter Beard (Founder of the First Boy Scout Organization in the United States)
Daniel Boone
Buffalo Bill Cody
Samuel Colt
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
John H. Glenn, Jr., Astronaut
Burl Ives
General Douglas MacArthur
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
James Naismith (Inventor of Basketball)
Brad Paisley (Country Music Entertainer)
Rev. Norman Vincent Peale
Albert Pike
Paul Revere
Franklin D. Roosevelt
Theodore Roosevelt
Red Skelton (Comedian)

This is just a short list of the world's famous men who have knocked on the door of Freemasonry! There are many many more and perhaps one day you too can be amoung them.

Freemasons believe that a Man must come to our fraternity of his own free will and accord, so you will never be asked to become a Mason, but if you have a belief in a Supreme being and are interested in learning more about this great fraternity then please review this web page:

This is our first issue of the 2010 Masonic Season and it sports a few changes! As you can tell there is no colored background to make it easier for those of you that decide to print it. We also are featuring a new calendar format to make it easier for to see what is going on in our very busy lodge and when!

What's in this issue:
In this edition you will find some new things as well as some old. Our featured columinist, the Tao of Masonry has returned and we have a new Senior officer in town, so he will be sounding off as well.

We also have the passing of the Masonic Toarch from one Master to another. A fond farewell to our Worshipful Brother Robert E. Bailey who through his guidance and wisdom has led Sequin Level Lodge No. 140 to another very successful year! Thank you Bob!
